Safety Tips for Clients
Verify Freelancer Credentials
Review freelancer profiles thoroughly, check their portfolio, read reviews from previous clients, and verify their skills match your needs.
Start with Small Projects
For new freelancers, consider starting with a smaller project to test their capabilities before committing to larger engagements.
Communicate Clearly
Provide detailed project requirements, deliverables, deadlines, and expectations in writing to avoid misunderstandings.
Keep a Written Record
Whichever app you chat on, keep a written record of the agreed scope, price, and deadline. NoFee doesn't process payments or mediate disputes, so this record is your only protection if something goes wrong.
Document Everything
Save copies of all agreements, deliverables, and important communications related to your project.
Be Cautious with Personal Information
Avoid sharing sensitive business information until trust is established. Use NDAs when necessary.
Safety Tips for Freelancers
Research Potential Clients
Review client profiles and their previous job postings. Look for red flags like unrealistic deadlines or vague requirements.
Clarify Scope Before Starting
Ensure all project requirements, deliverables, timelines, and payment terms are clearly defined and agreed upon in writing.
Set Boundaries
Establish clear working hours, communication preferences, and revision limits to prevent scope creep.
Request Partial Payments
For large projects, consider milestone-based payments to reduce financial risk.
Keep Records
Maintain detailed records of all work completed, time spent, and communications with clients.
Trust Your Instincts
If something feels wrong or a client is pressuring you unreasonably, it's okay to decline the project.
Red Flags & Warning Signs
Watch out for these red flags and report suspicious activity:
